From May 8 until May 20, 2020, the GEM Tower is located at the Fieldlab SmartBase in Ede-Driesprong, the Netherlands. The Fieldlab SmartBase is one of the innovation test locations from the Dutch Ministry of Defence. This location offers smaller and larger companies and knowledge institutions the possibility to run tests on their innovations on water, energy, logistics, and protection.
Over the course of two weeks, the GEM team will run several tests at this location on wind, solar and light. Ede-Driespong is the first official location that GEM Tower visits since Eurosonic Noorderslag Groningen earlier this year.
In the past five weeks, GEM Tower was on a digital tour (watch here), as the planned European GEM Tour was cancelled due to the corona virus.
